  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and yellow onion; cook, breaking up the beef, until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in minced garlic, chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add diced tomatoes (undrained), rinsed and drained black beans, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce slightly thickens.
  4. While the beef mixture simmers, warm corn tortillas according to package directions. Shred iceberg lettuce, dice Roma tomatoes, and chop fresh cilantro. Arrange all toppings.
  5. Serve the spiced ground beef mixture hot with warm tortillas and your desired toppings like shredded iceberg lettuce, diced Roma tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and fresh cilantro.
