  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped yellow onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, until vegetables begin to soften.
  3. Stir in the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Add the undrained diced tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
  4. While the skillet dish simmers, toast or bake the garlic bread according to package directions.
  5. Serve the skillet Italian beef and peppers hot with the garlic bread on the side.

Notes
