Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1.5 pound ground pork
- 1 yellow onion (chopped)
- 3 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)
- 6 cup green cabbage (shredded)
- 0.25 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground)
- 3 package microwaveable jasmine rice
- 12 lettuces (large leaves)
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground pork and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and no pink remains, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add chopped yellow onion, minced garlic, and grated fresh ginger to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until fragrant and onion begins to soften.
- Stir in shredded green cabbage. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until cabbage is tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and black pepper. Pour the sauce over the pork and cabbage mixture in the skillet. Toss to coat and cook for 1 minute more, ensuring everything is well combined and heated through.
- While the pork mixture is cooking, prepare microwaveable jasmine rice according to package directions.
- Serve the sautéed pork and cabbage mixture in large lettuce leaves as wraps, alongside portions of microwaveable jasmine rice.
Notes
If you like a little heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the pork mixture. The pork filling can be made ahead and reheated, then served with fresh lettuce cups and rice.
