Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 yellow onion (medium, diced)
- 2 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)
- 0.5 cup hoisin sauce
- 0.25 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 4 package instant ramen noodles (3 ounce packages (discard seasoning))
- 1.5 cup shelled edamame (frozen)
- 0.25 cup green onions (chopped)
Instructions
- Prepare the instant ramen noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside. Alternatively, use pre-cooked noodles if available for extra speed.
- While noodles cook, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground pork and diced yellow onion. Cook, breaking up the pork, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the minced garlic and grated fresh ginger. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the hoisin sauce, chicken broth, and sesame oil. Bring the sauce to a simmer.
- Add the frozen shelled edamame to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, until heated through. Stir in the cooked ramen noodles until they are well coated with the sauce and pork mixture.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
Adjust the amount of hoisin sauce to your preference. A splash of sriracha can be added for extra heat.
