Ingredients
- 8 ounce shrimp (large, peeled and deveined)
- 0.25 cup olive oil
- 4 clove garlic (thinly sliced)
- 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
- 0.5 pound green beans (trimmed)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 slice crusty bread
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the trimmed green beans and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp and lightly browned. Season with 1/8 teaspoon salt and a pinch of black pepper. Remove green beans from skillet and set aside.
- To the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Reduce heat to medium. Add the thinly sliced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 1 minute until fragrant and garlic is just golden (do not burn).
- Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Stir in 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley and remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper.
- Toss the cooked green beans with the fresh lemon juice. Serve the garlic shrimp immediately with the lemon green beans and slices of crusty bread for dipping in the garlicky olive oil.
Notes
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level. Serve immediately to enjoy the warm, fragrant oil with the bread.
