Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey (85% lean)
- 0.75 cup spaghetti sauce
- 0.25 cup mozzarella cheese (part-skim)
- 0.5 cup green bell pepper (chopped)
- 0.25 cup onion (minced)
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (for greasing)
Instructions
- Lightly grease 9 inch pie plate with vegetable oil.
- Pat ground turkey into pie plate.
- Cover ground turkey with waxed paper.
- Cook in microwave on high; rotate plate 1/4 turn after 3 minutes. Cook until ground turkey reaches an internal temperature of 160 °F, about 5 more minutes.
- Drain excess liquid.
- OR - Place ground turkey in 350 °F oven; bake until ground turkey reaches an internal temperature of 160 °F, about 30 to 35 minutes.
- Drain any excess liquid.
- Top cooked ground turkey with green bell pepper, onion, spaghetti sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
- Return ground turkey to either the microwave or oven and heat until mozzarella cheese is melted, about 1 to 2 minutes.
