Ingredients
- 1 pound minute steak (cut into 3 portions)
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- 0.75 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 pound frozen french fries
- 3 cup mixed green lettuce
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Arrange frozen french fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or according to package instructions, until golden brown and crispy.
- While fries are baking, pat steak portions dry with paper towels. Season both sides with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the seasoned minute steak and sear for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your preferred doneness.
- Remove steak from skillet and set aside to rest. Reduce heat to low, add 2 tablespoons butter and 2 cloves minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour garlic butter over the rested steaks.
- For the side salad, whisk together 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar, remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper in a small bowl. Toss the mixed green lettuce with the vinaigrette.
- Serve the pan-seared steak immediately with the crispy French fries and the side salad.
Notes
For best results, allow steak to come closer to room temperature before cooking for more even searing. Adjust cook time for steak based on thickness and desired doneness.
