Instructions

  1. Season boneless pork chops evenly with 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork chops and sear for 4-6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 145°F). Remove chops from skillet and set aside on a plate to rest.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same skillet. Add sliced yellow onion and sliced apple. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples and onions are tender and lightly caramelized.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes. Return pork chops to the skillet and spoon the apple-onion mixture over them.
  5. While the pork is cooking, prepare mashed potatoes according to package directions or reheat store-bought mashed potatoes. Steam frozen green beans according to package instructions.
  6. Serve the pork chops with the apple-onion topping, alongside mashed potatoes and green beans.

Notes

Ensure pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F for safe consumption. Allowing them to rest after cooking helps keep them juicy.
