Ingredients
- 1.25 pound ground turkey
- 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
- 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 0.5 cup chicken broth
- 12 ounce spaghetti
- 4 slice garlic bread
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, gently combine 1 1/4 pounds ground turkey, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 large egg, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper until just mixed (do not overmix).
- Form the mixture into 15-18 meatballs (about 1.5 inches each). Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake meatballs for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F).
- While meatballs bake, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat. Pour in 1 jar marinara sauce and 1/2 cup chicken broth (or water). Bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover, and keep warm.
- Cook 12 ounces spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain well.
- Once meatballs are baked, add them to the simmering marinara sauce. Gently stir to coat and allow them to warm through for 5 minutes.
- Toast or bake 4 slices garlic bread according to package instructions.
- Serve the turkey meatballs and marinara over the spaghetti, with garlic bread on the side. Garnish with extra fresh parsley or Parmesan if desired.
Notes
You can use pre-made garlic bread for convenience or brush Italian bread with garlic butter and bake. Freeze leftover meatballs for a quick meal later.
