Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and yellow onion, breaking up the turkey with a spoon. Cook until the turkey is browned and no longer pink, and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, water, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the broken linguine to the pot, ensuring it is mostly submerged in the liquid. Stir well.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and torn fresh basil leaves, if desired.

Notes

If the pasta seems too dry during cooking, add a splash more broth or water.
