Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 8 ounce penne pasta
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 0.5 yellow onion (chopped)
- 2 cup milk
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 0.5 cup frozen green peas
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 0.125 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Heat avocado oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add ground pork and chopped yellow onion, cooking until the pork is browned and the onion is softened, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the penne pasta, milk, chicken broth, dried Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Stir in the frozen green peas and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until peas are heated through and pasta is cooked to your liking.
- Serve hot.
Notes
If the pasta absorbs all the liquid before it's cooked, add a splash more milk or broth until tender.
