  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and yellow onion, breaking up the beef with a spoon. Cook for 6-8 minutes, until beef is browned and onion is softened.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet. Add minced garlic, diced tomatoes, small-diced sweet potato, Jamaican jerk seasoning, red pepper flakes, and salt. Stir to combine.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until sweet potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally. While the hash simmers, prepare the cooked white rice.
  4. Serve the hash hot, garnished with fresh cilantro, alongside the white rice.
