Ingredients
- 2.5 cup rolled oats
- 1.5 teaspoon baking powder
- 1.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 2 Gala apples (cored and finely diced)
- 2 cup whole milk
- 2 eggs
- 0.33 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and lightly grease an 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
- Fold the finely diced Gala apples into the dry oat mixture, spreading evenly across the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the whole milk, eggs, pure maple syrup, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until completely blended.
- Pour the liquid mixture slowly and evenly over the oats and apples, gently tapping the baking dish to allow the liquid to settle into the grains.
- Bake for 23 to 25 minutes until the center is set and edges are golden brown. Let cool 5 minutes, then slice into 5 equal portions.
Notes
Portions store well in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat individual squares in the microwave for 45 to 60 seconds with a splash of milk.
