Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 yellow onion (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper (ground)
- 0.5 cup chicken broth
- 1 lime (juiced)
- 8 flour tortillas (small)
- 2 cup iceberg lettuce (pre-shredded)
- 1 cup Roma tomatoes (diced)
- 0.5 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the finely chopped yellow onion to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, until softened.
- Stir in the chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Pour in the chicken broth and lime juice, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to slightly reduce.
- While the beef simmers, warm the flour tortillas according to package directions (microwave or stovetop). Set out the pre-shredded iceberg lettuce, diced Roma tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese in separate bowls for serving.
- Serve the chili-lime ground beef hot with the warmed tortillas and various toppings for a build-your-own wrap experience.
Notes
You can add other toppings like sour cream or salsa, if desired. The beef mixture can be prepped ahead and reheated, making assembly even faster.
