Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 lean)
- 1 yellow onion (medium, diced)
- 3 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 head green cabbage (thinly sliced)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spoon, for 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add diced yellow onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 5 minutes, until onion softens.
- Stir in the thinly sliced green cabbage, dried oregano, black pepper, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage begins to wilt.
- Pour in the beef broth and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
- Remove lid and cook for another 2-3 minutes if needed to reduce liquid slightly. Serve hot.
Notes
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat if desired.
