  1. Preheat your oven and prepare the quick oven fries according to package directions while making the burgers.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the rinsed and drained black beans with a fork until mostly crushed but still some texture remains.
  3. Stir in the breadcrumbs, finely diced yellow onion, minced garlic, beaten egg, chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Divide the mixture into 7 equal portions and form into patties.
  5. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the patties in the hot skillet (you may need to cook in batches). Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, until browned and heated through.
  6. Serve the black bean burgers on burger buns with lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and a side of quick oven fries.

Notes
