Ingredients
- 1.5 pound ground turkey (93% lean)
- 2 zucchinis (medium, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch rounds)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper (ground)
- 4 slice cheddar cheese (mild slices)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a large baking sheet with olive oil.
- In a bowl, mix ground turkey with 1/2 teaspoon of the dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon of the smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of the black pepper. Form into 4 equal patties and place on one half of the baking sheet.
- Toss the sliced zucchini rounds with the remaining 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, remaining 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Arrange them in a single layer on the other half of the baking sheet.
- Bake for 16 minutes, then place one slice of cheddar cheese on top of each turkey patty. Return to oven for 4 minutes until cheese is melted and patties reach 165°F.
Notes
Baking patties on a sheet pan keeps prep hands-off while yielding evenly juicy results.
