Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground pork and chopped yellow onion (and celery, if using). Cook, breaking up the pork, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the diced apple, dried sage, garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste), and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes, until the apple starts to soften slightly.
  3. Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the instant stuffing mix. Cover the skillet and remove from heat. Let it stand for 5 minutes, or according to stuffing package directions, until the stuffing is tender.
  4. Fluff the stuffing with a fork and stir gently. Garnish with fresh parsley if using. Serve hot directly from the skillet.

Notes

If you don't have instant stuffing, you can use day-old bread cubes and add additional broth to soften.
